Homemade Playdough

I have postedĀ anĀ article like this before for making homemade play-dough, we call it salt dough too. My daughter-in-law, Kristen, really doesn’t like the smell of the store bought stuff. She is the one who told me about Kool-aide play dough.. So I thought lets give it a try.

Kool-aide playdough

This hands down is far better than the original version. The kool-aide is just stirred into the mix. The food color did get on our hands and was a mess compared to this one. If you cant find Kool-aide or a flavor of one you can certainly use food coloring.

Make sure you purchase the small package that contains drink mix only.

Kool-aide playdough ingredients

1 cup of flour
1/2 cup of salt
1 cup of water
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon of vegetable oil
1 package Kool-aide drink mix

Mix all these ingredients together in a sauce pan, using medium heat while stirring constantly until the mixture becomes a ball. (Should only take a few minutes). Remove from the heat, place the ball on the counter. Knead the ball. (Be careful, it will still be warm!)
Knead for 1 to 2 minutes, then let stand to cool.
Have Fun!
