Overwhelmed by October

This month has literally overwhelmed me. Our family has tons of the birthdays in the fall and this month was no exception. Our youngest son turned 26, our oldest granddaughter turned 10 and our oldest grandson turned 12.

Just as we started recovery of cake overload my husband got sick. I didn’t think anything of it, he had the standard symptoms: fever, chills, pains, nausea and headache. The second day he said he felt better but had pains in his side, by the evening they hadn’t gone away so off to the emergency room we went.

Turned out that he was suffering from acute appendicitis. Our local hospital didn’t have a surgeon on staff that night so they transported my husband to another hospital. Friday morning his surgery went well and he spent the next week at home recuperating.

This week I plan to finish helping Karmen with her school project. She is building a castle! Right now it looks like the shell of a castle that is painted Pepto-Bismol pink, but by the end of the week it will have just enough glitter to shine!

Anthony has a speaking assignment to deliver Monday morning, and Friday he will go on his first school field trip. We are heading north to the pumpkin patch. Im sure he will love it and he will also get to meet others from his online school.

I hope you are all enjoying your month of October and staying safe, warm and well!
