I can handle pain.. until it hurts.

Last night I went for a walk with Kristen and Emily. We walked uphill for 20 miles (ok 3 blocks), by the time I reached the top I swear angels were singing, I saw the light! I said “Thank God I brought my cell phone“ as I considered calling a cab home. My granddaughter, Emily (8), says to me, “Why, so you can call an ambulance?” *eye roll* Kids say the darndest things!

I had worn flip flops and didn’t think it would really hurt to take that walk in them. As I struggled up the hill I had to use my toes to dig into them and feared my feet would fall out in protest! On the return portion of the trip my toes had gone on strike! The balls of my feet went to work to prevent the rubber soles from turning this walk into a potential down-hill skiing event. Today my feet have yet to forgive me!

This morning I tried to slip into those same flops and my feet actually yelled “NO WAY!” So I opted for some comfy crocs and ran my errands. As the day wore on I did convince my feet to surrender into my flippers once more. I went outside to watch the kids ride bikes. The sun was hot and burning so we went poolside. Needless to say, my toes are sunburned! If my feet could divorce me, I think they would!
