Foxy the cozy-phone

My grandson, Carter, doesn’t like traditional headphones. He says they are too bulky. I ordered him a set that that were wireless. I thought the Bluetooth ones would be more comfortable. Yet again they are too bulky and don’t stay charged for very long. I saw an ad on social media about headbands with headphones built in. I decided to order a pair. I was impressed with how fast they shipped. We had them in a few days. We tried {Read More}

Rants, Raves and Favs

Don’t you just hate it when you go to the store to get the thing you just watched a commercial for and they don’t have it? I mean if you are going to advertise it then make it available. I’m liable to forget to go back and get it. I don’t usually remember stuff like that and tend to not buy it later. Everyone seems to be making those cakes from Krispy Kreme but my store doesn’t carry it! It’s {Read More}

ID Bracelets

My grandson Vincent has autism. I find myself thinking of different things to do for him. I want to challenge him in the same way you would any 4-year-old but I find that with Vincent if he can feel it then it makes sense to him. I considered making toys/learning tools for him. I bought a seat belt restraint to put on him in the car explaining his disability in the event of an accident since he is considered nonverbal. {Read More}

Sunday Dinner

Every week we have dinner together at the kid’s house. Great grandpa, Boogie as the kids call him, Poppy and I go over to their house to eat. The kids love Sunday dinner because we always have dessert! Each week a discussion starts… what do you want to dinner Sunday? Sometimes we are prepared while others times we pull off a miracle. Most of the grown-ups work so usually its myself and the kids… the twins really… making dinner. Carter {Read More}

New Year Resolutions -2017

I started this blog to have a place to share family stories, tips on crafts and recipes, and more things I do with the grandkids. As it has grown it has turned into product review and less about family. I was fine with that because I find myself censoring things I want to say. Basically I have stopped posting. Truthfully this is my format to express myself about anything I want to. If you don’t like it, don’t read it. {Read More}

Big Brother

One of the things I like to do is watch reality television. I don’t know why it’s so addicting for me but it is. Every summer CBS comes out with big brother. It’s a show about a social experiment taking strangers and putting them in a house… they can’t leave, there’s no television, there’s no reading and they used to not even be able to know the time. All of the contestants compete in competitions to earn different things like {Read More}

Essential Oils

I haven’t joined the essential oil craze so far because I am smell sensitive. This past weekend I hurt my back and went to see my chiropractor. We talked about allergies and Claritin, I can’t use that regularly because it gives me a headache. He said it did the same for him. He told me he started using essential oils and they work great. A friend of mine accurately sells them, so today I ran to the market and got {Read More}

Happy Birthday

This time of year we have a few birthdays in a row. My niece and best friend have one a few days before then 16th, 17th, and 18th we party like a Congo line. Not really. This year we aren’t even in the same town. Usually we get together for the big moments… you know those that end in 0! Happy birthday to all the Geminis out there!

Fun at the beach

This weekend we filled a Saturday with almost every errand you could imagine. We started our morning grabbing breakfast and the boys, Anthony and Carter. Anthony was invited to a birthday party first thing so the rush was on. Anthony makes molasses look fast, so we need to ‘encourage’ him to hurry. Carter was ready in two minutes.. now if Anthony was ready we probably would wait on Carter. Off to the store we go! They seem to pick everything {Read More}

Storytime

Today Carter and I went to story time at the local library. We do this most every week. It allows for him to socialize with his friends and lets me get a moment to myself. Today it was hosted by Miss Sallie, she does a wonderful job with the kids. They sing songs, read stories and do an art project. Afterwards we check out books for the week. I couldn’t help but think back to a few years ago when {Read More}
